Stivali ugg, July 30 (UPI) -- Critics lashed out at the federal judge who temporarily blocked parts of Arizona's immigration law,

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton issued an injunction Wednesday,

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer filed an appeal with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, asking it to overturn Bolton's decision. Brewer is seeking an expedited appeal, meaning oral arguments could be heard by mid-September,

State Sen. Russell Pearce, the Republican lawmaker who authored the bill creating the immigration law, called Bolton an "activist judge" Thursday during an interview on CNN.
Republican U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl, appearing on Fox News Channel,
